We have come in today to more hives being attacked by wasps here in Kent (see in the image). This feels like the worst year in a long time, and we know we are not alone.
Aside from closing up the hives, the best thing you can do to help is place traps in the apiary. Keep your hives safe by setting wasp traps 10 metres away from your hive(s). This draws wasps to the trap, not the hive. Once they target a hive, they won't quit.
Make sure you are checking/changing traps every few days. In warm weather they can dry up quickly depending on the bait you use.
