Carniolan Queens are renowned for their calm temperament, making them a firm favourite among beekeepers in the UK. They have great honey production abilities, where they often yield large crops.
Their docile behaviour makes them easier to handle, reducing the likelihood of stings - a calm hive is always a bonus!
Fun fact - in Slovenia, Carniolan bees are actually protected by law as an indigenous species. They have exceptionally long tongues, making them efficient foragers, especially for flowers like red clover.
